Developer/React Sdk

Upgrade React SDK to v2.1.7+ for 3DS Changes

Action required for React SDK merchants

Fat Zebra is updating its 3D Secure integration. If you use the React SDK (@fat-zebra/sdk), you must be on version 2.1.7 or later. Older versions may fail to trigger 3DS on your transactions.

Who this applies to

Merchants using the React SDK (@fat-zebra/sdk) for 3DS or card tokenisation.

If you are using the fatzebra.js script integration (renderPaymentsPage / verifyCard), no changes are required.

What you need to do

  1. Upgrade @fat-zebra/sdk to 2.1.7 or later
  2. Re-deploy your application
  3. Run a test payment in sandbox with a 3DS test card to confirm 3DS still triggers

How to upgrade

With npm:

bash
npm install @fat-zebra/sdk@^2.1.7

With yarn:

bash
yarn add @fat-zebra/sdk@^2.1.7

With pnpm:

bash
pnpm add @fat-zebra/sdk@^2.1.7

Or set the version in your package.json and re-install with your package manager:

json
"dependencies": {
  "@fat-zebra/sdk": "^2.1.7"
}

To check which version you currently have installed:

bash
npm ls @fat-zebra/sdk

Do I need to change my code?

No. Upgrading from 1.x keeps the same imports (@fat-zebra/sdk/dist and @fat-zebra/sdk/dist/react), components (VerifyCard, VerifyExistingCard) and config options. The 3DS changes all happen inside the SDK. See the React SDK Overview for current example code.
